Updating labels on Blogger
If you have my blog on Bloglines, don't be misled by the number of new posts listed. Blogger has added a new labels feature that allows visitors to check out multiple entries on the same subject on the blog, so I'm going into the archives and adding labels. Each change requires me to re-publish the blog, so it appears on Bloglines as a new entry. It may take a couple of days to finish, unless I get distracted. You can bypass the updates on Bloglines and click on the blog title line to get to the newest posts.

Hey Nita,
Did you see that there is an option in "edit posts" to add labels to posts without republishing them. You can open another window to look at the posts and then add labels to it in the first window.
Still a lot of work though.
Hope it is of any help.
That works, Bart! Thanks. Yes, it's a lot of work, but I've only had the blog a little over a year and already I keep worrying about repeating myself. With labels I can look up a topic and see what I've already written on it.
Wow, Nita. I've just started doing the same thing and emphathized on the the time it takes. Thanks to Bart's reply, I will use the label option and same myself some time, too! Thanks to both of you! Annette
Same here.....I'd wondered about how much effort I would have to put in to put labels on all the entries. Now to think of what to label each.
It's kind of like indexing, where you try to figure out what your readers might be searching for. Also for your own reference, if you want to revisit a topic. My problem has been deciding on whether to use singular or plural labels.
Well. I thought that connecting labels to a post is indeed like making an index, the most important thing is that you want yourself and the reader to find the things they are looking for. So more labels make that change bigger, as you indeed don't really know what exact word people might use.
But as I didn't want a big list of all the labels used on my blog in the right column, I tried to think of some slightly general words that cover a lot. It will never be perfect anyway I guess :-)
(One can of course make changes - I start to think of adding one or two now that it has been working for a while)
Thanks for the label information. I, too, am going to give labels a go.
